Dried Pearl Barley (Cooked)
Pearl Barley is rich in many nutrients and packs with impressive health benefits, ranging from improve digestion, dissipate lung heat, drains damp-heat through urination, clear toxins and also lower cholesterol and blood sugar level. It can be used to prepare dessert and soup.
Roasted Pearl Barley is different from raw barley. Roasted Pearl Barley is more neutral, it is used to treat diarrhea and to relieve heat and fatigue. We can mix cooked and raw pearl barley for better medicinal value.
Cautions:
- Soak barley in warm water for few hours before cooking. Barley is a cereal grain with a chewy texture and hard outer shell, it might cause gas or bloating. Do not overeat barley.
- Due to its cooling properties, it is not recommended to pregnant women.
