Singapore Bak Kuet Teh Spices
Bak Kuet Teh in the Hokkien or Fujianese dialect literally translates to Pork Rib Soup. It is popularly eaten in Malaysia and Singapore. Bak Kuet Teh is a Chinese herbal soup with Dong Gui and various herbs, garlic, pepper and spices, also known for its warming properties. Perfect for the colder months.
Ingredients: Chinese Angelica, Pepper, Wolfberry, Chuan Xiong Rhizome, Liquorke, Star Anise, Spices, Salt and Sugar etc.
Cooking instructions:
Blanch 2lbs of pork ribs for few minutes and rinse the pork ribs to remove the scum. Place the sachet and pork ribs in 1200ml of water. Simmer for 30 minutes. Add garlic and continue to simmer for another 15 minutes. Serve hot. Serve for 3-4 people. No additional seasoning is required.
