Pharmacological Effects:

• Artemisinin (青蒿素) has significant antimalarial effects and is highly effective in killing adult schistosomes.
• Decoctions have strong antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Bacillus anthracis, and other pathogens, and also show some inhibitory effects against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Shigella, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
• Volatile oils have inhibitory and killing effects on dermatophytes.
• Ethanol extracts inhibit Leptospira.
• Artemisinin, Beta-sitosterol (B-谷甾醇), and Stigmasterol (豆甾醇) all exhibit antiviral properties.
