Don't confuse American ginseng with Asian ginseng (Panax ginseng) or Korean Ginseng. Studies have found that the different types of ginsengs have different benefits. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), American ginseng is considered less stimulating than the Asian variety.

In TCM, American ginseng is cool in nature. It helps people with too much “heat” in their body and help restore a harmonious balance between Yin & Yang.
